Welcome

Hello and welcome to the Anime Checker blog. This is the official blog for the program Anime Checker. Here you will find posts about new versions and updates for Anime Checker. You can also look at the Screenshots page to get a look at Anime Checker.

Now to give a little bit of information, Anime Checker is a program that is designed for you to make sure that you have downloaded the correct anime video file, integrity wise, that was released by a fansub group.

Normally an anime video file name has the following form: [Fansub Group Name] Anime Series Name - Episode Number [Various Video Information Tags] [CRC Code].

The CRC code is what is important and this is what Anime Checker looks at when verifying your file. The CRC code is usually an eight (8) character sequence made up of the characters 0-9 and a-f/A-F. Anime Checker extracts this sequence from the file name and compares it to the actual CRC that is computed from the file. If they match, then you have the correct file. If not, then you will probably need to download it again.

Now for some program specifications:
  • Anime Checker was written in Java. In order to run the program, make sure you have the JRE (Java Run-time Environment) version 1.7 or higher installed on your computer. You can download the JRE from here.
  • Anime Checker can run on any system that supports Java which include but is not limited to Windows 2000/XP/Vista/7/8, Macintosh OS X Lion (10.7) or higher, Linux, BSD, etc.
